Poland October 2015: Volkswagen up 30% to #1, Tucson in Top 15

The Polish new car market is up 3% year-on-year in October to 33.938 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total to 329.120 units, up 6% on 2014. Flying in the face of its current turmoil, Volkswagen gains 30% year-on-year to edge past sister company Skoda and take the lead of the brands ranking in Poland in October at 3.733 sales and 11% share vs. 3.621 and 10.7% (-13%). Toyota (-2%) remains third, followed by Ford (+14%), Opel (-2%) and Renault (+14%). Notice also BMW (+24%), Volvo (+30%), Mercedes (+41%), Audi (+43%), Mini (+57%) and Lexus (+71%) all delivering very vigorous results. Model-wise, the Skoda Fabia manages to win the race for the 4th time in the past 5 months thanks to 1.115 sales and 3.3% however the Skoda Octavia remains the year-to-date leader at 11.437 sales (-3%) vs. 10.079 (+12%). The Fabia may have better luck in 2016. The VW Golf solidly rounds up the podium at 3.1% share, the Ford Focus is back up 6 ranks on September to #5, the Hyundai Tucson leaps up 18 spots to a spectacular #14 ranking for its 2nd full month of sales, the VW Up jumps to #24, the Renault Captur to #36, Suzuki Vitara to #37 and the Audi Q5 to #44.
