In the models ranking, with final data we have a surprise in the Top 10: if the Top 8 remains unchanged, the Toyota Yaris elbows its way into 9th place overall with 19.211 sales vs. 19.189 for the Opel Astra at #10 and 19.126 for the Skoda Octavia, kicked out of the Top 10 at #11. This is only the fourth time the Toyota Yaris is among Europe’s Top 10 favourite nameplate after 10 March 2012September 2012 and January 2015, and simply the nameplate’s best-ever European ranking. In fact, only 2.155 sales separated the #9 from the #19 nameplates this month, with very strong performances all round lifted by a record UK market. The Mercedes C-Class gains a further two spots on August to #13, the Fiat Panda is up 40% year-on-year and 17 ranks on last month to #16, both the VW Passat (#17) and Opel Mokka (#18) are up 26% and the Mini edges onto the Top 20.

Further down, the Fiat 500X breaks into the European Top 50 for the very first time, the Hyundai Tucson breaks into the Top 100, the Jaguar XE is up 35 spots to #119, the Mercedes GLC up 63 to #137, the Honda HR-V up 103 to #138 and the Ssangyong Tivoli breaks into the Top 200.
