Taiwanese new car sales crash and burn in September due to lunar year celebrations falling early in the month and resulting in just 11 working days: down a harsh 27% year-on-year to just 25.226 deliveries, pulling the year-to-date total into negative territory for the first time in 2015 at 311.274 units (-1%). Toyota remains master on board despite falling twice as fast as the market at -54% to 18.6% share, followed by Mitsubishi (-31%), Nissan (-38%) and Honda, going against the grain and up 16% to 1.849 sales and 7.3% share. Mercedes (+2%) and BMW (+3%) also lodge year-on-year gains. The Toyota Corolla is still the best-selling vehicle in the country but at a weak 5.8% share vs. 9.6% year-to-date, followed by the Toyota RAV4 (3%) while the Mitsubishi Delica jumps 9 spots on August to land on the third step of the podium. he Ford Focus remains at a strong 4th spot, the Mazda3 is up 4 ranks to #5, the Nissan X-Trail stays inside the Top 10 at #9, the Mercedes E-Class is up 6 ranks to #13 and the Honda Odyssey jumps 25 to #18.
