For the very first time on BSCB I can share with you official car sales data for Iraq where 16.581 new light vehicles found a buyer over the First Quarter of 2015. This makes Iraq the 7th largest market in the region below Saudi Arabia (211.444), the UAE (101.676), Israel (80.000), Oman (47.894), Kuwait (40.772), Qatar (25.154) and Bahrain (18.006) but above Jordan (13.288), Lebanon (11.368), Syria (4.998) and Yemen (4.811). Kia is the clear leader in Iraq with almost one in every two cars sold in the country going to the Korean Manufacturer. It is followed by Toyota (23.1%), Hyundai (20.9%) with American Chevrolet and Ford rounding up the Top 5 well below 10% share.
