New car sales in New Caledonia, an overseas French territory located north-east of Australia, are back into negative territory in May at -8% year-on-year to 591 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 3.581 deliveries, down 9% on 2014. Ford remains the most popular manufacturer on the archipelago by far with 11.2% share, placing the Ranger atop the models ranking (5.6% share), above Peugeot, Citroen (both at 8.5%) and Dacia (8.3%). Nissan is back up 8 spots on April to 4th overall with 40 units sold and 6.8% share mainly due to the Navara shooting up 41 ranks on last month to #4 also with 3.6% of the market. Notice also the Dacia Duster solid in 2nd place, the Isuzu D-Max up to #3, Suzuki Swift up 14 spots to #6, Dacia Logan up 12 to #9 and the VW Polo up to #11.
