Germany Private Sales February 2015: 3 Skodas in Top 7

Private sales in Germany are back up to 33.1% of the overall market vs. 31.2% in January at 73,897 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 139,938 units or a 32.2% private sales ratio vs. 36.2% over the FY2014 and 37.9% in FY2013. Volkswagen monopolises the podium once again and is the only manufacturer with nameplates selling over 1,500 units to private buyers this month: the VW Golf (5,541), Polo (2,827) and Tiguan (2,254) lead the way while sister brand Skoda also places 3 models inside the Top 7: the Octavia (1,471), Fabia (1,469) and Yeti (1,359). Notice also the Seat Leon at #11, the Smart Fortwo at #16, Hyundai ix35 at #19, Suzuki Swift at #22 and Hyundai i20 at #29. Among the Top 100 best-sellers, the Dacia Sandero (88.2%) and Duster (85.6%) lodge the highest private sales ratio, whereas the VW Passat (6.4%) and BMW 5 Series (8.3%) post the lowest.
