Hungary January 2015: Skoda Octavia starts with a bang

The Skoda Octavia accounts for 7% of all new passenger cars sold in Hungary this month.

The Hungarian new passenger car market is up 11% year-on-year in January to 4,898 registrations,  up 18% to 6,254 units including LCVs. This month is favourable to German premium automakers, with Mercedes up to #7 and 4.2% share and Audi at #10 and 3.1%. Skoda still dominates with 12.9% share above Opel (12.8%) and Ford (11.3%). Including LCVs, Ford takes the lead with 14.4% above Opel (11.8%) and Volkswagen (10.3%). The Skoda Octavia starts the year in a very satisfying way, holding 7% of the market thanks to 343 sales ahead of the Suzuki Swift also very strong at 5.5% and the VW Golf at 3.9%. Notice also the Fiat 500 up to #7 and the Nissan Qashqai up to #9.
