Mexico August 2014: Nissan, Chevrolet & Toyota impress

Toyota sales are up 47% year-on-year in Mexico in August.

Weirdly, this month the AMDA did not publish any models data for the first time BSCB has been following monthly figures for Mexico, only brands data. We sincerely hope this is a fluke and all will return to normal next month… In any case Mexican new car sales are in great shape this month, up a huge 18% year-on-year to 103,881 registrations, an all-time record August score in Mexico and the first time over 100,000 new cars found a buyer in August. This exceptional performance brings the year-to-date total to 700,452 units, up 3.5% on 2013. In the lead, Nissan is up 20% to 25.5% share, followed by Chevrolet (+37%) and Volkswagen (+3%) while Toyota (+47%), Mercedes (+37%) and Isuzu (+47%) also impress. Newcomer for 2014, Hyundai remains at the Top 10s’ doorstep at #11 with 1.3% market share.
