Philippines 7 months 2014: Now with Top 170 models!

For the first time in over a year, I can give you an all-models ranking for the Philippines, and this over the first 7 months of 2014. During that time, new car sales are up a gigantic 24% year-on-year to a record 150,400 registrations, with Toyota tightening its stranglehold on the market at just under 40% share, and it shows in the models ranking. The Toyota Vios is unsurprisingly the best-seller again this year thanks to 14,912 sales and 9.9% share, while the Toyota Fortuner overtakes both the Innova and the Mitsubishi Montero Sport to rank #2 overall at 9,739 units and 6.5% vs. 9,448 for the Montero Sport and 8,655 for the Innova…

The next 3 models are all Toyotas, making it an amazing 6 Toyotas in the Filipino Top 7 over the period! The Hiace ranks 5th ahead of the Avanza and Hilux. The Honda City follows at #8 above the Mitsubishi Adventure while the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 (aka Attrage) makes its first appearance in the ranking directly in 10th place with 3,526 sales and 2.3%. Other newcomers include the Toyota Wigo (aka Agya) imported directly from Indonesia and landing at #15 with 1.9% share, the Ford Ecosport at #28, the Hyundai Grand i10 at #35 and Chevrolet Spin at #41.
