The Spanish new car market enjoys its 7th consecutive month of year-on-year gain at +10% to 79,990 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 202,289 units, up 11% on 2013. In the brands ranking, Volkswagen reclaims the pole position it held over the Full Year 2013 and year-to-date this year thanks to 7,274 sales and 9.1% share, passing the February #1 Opel down to #2 with 6,789 units and 8.5%. Ford is up 2 spots on February and 12% year-on-year to #3 with 6,143 sales and 7.7%, kicking down Seat to #4. Other great performers include Audi up 24%, Hyundai up 44%, Toyota up 36%, Dacia up 66%, Kia up 95% and Mercedes up 22%.

Even though Seat is down to #4 brand this month, it places two models in the Top 2 like in February, with the Ibiza in the overall lead for the first time since last July thanks to 2,548 sales and 3.2% share, but its very thin advantage over its big brother the Seat Leon this month (only 20 units!) means the Leon keeps the lead year-to-date – just – at 6,390 units vs. 6,373. The VW Polo is up 4 spots to #3, the Renault Mégane up 11 to #6, Ford Fiesta up 6 to #8, Audi A1 up 16 to #15 and the Nissan Micra up 67 ranks to #28.
