Norway February 2014: Golf edges past Leaf, Tesla Model S #4

The Norwegian new car market is down 1% year-on-year both in February at 11,246 registrations and year-to-date at 22,631 units, but remains by far the most electric European market: if the VW Golf reclaims the pole position this month thanks to 488 sales and 4.3% share, it is only 4 units above the Nissan Leaf which remains the best-seller so far in 2014 at 1,134 units and 5% share (+105% on 2013!) vs. 1,016 and 4.5% for the Toyota Auris and 953 and 4.2% for the Golf.

Fallen outside the Top 20 in January, the Tesla Model S is back with a vengeance in an extraordinary 4th position thanks to 431 sales for a 3.8% share. Other great performers this month in Norway include the Toyota RAV4 up 185% on February 2013 to #5, the Nissan Qashqai up from outside the Top 20 last month to #8, the VW Up! up 132% to #9, Suzuki SX4 up 302% to #13 and the Peugeot 2008 at #17 with 184 sales and 1.6% share.
