Austria January 2014: Opel Mokka up to world-best 4th place

Harsh start of the year for the Austrian new car market, down 14% year-on-year in January to 23,990 registrations. Below the traditional VW Golf, Polo and Skoda Octavia atop the models ranking, we have a big surprise in 4th position: the Opel Mokka, jumping up from outside the Top 50 in December and #34 over the Full Year 2013 thanks to 629 sales and 2.6%, its best ranking anywhere in the world and pushing Opel up 36% year-on-year to #2 brand and 7.7% share.

Other great Top 10 performers in Austria this month include the Ford Focus up to #7 vs. #19 in 2013 and the VW Sharan at #8 vs. #17. Further down, notice the Mazda3 up 25 spots on December to a fantastic 15th place with 1.4% share vs. #60 over the FY2013, the Citroen C4 Picasso up to #22 vs. #44, Dacia Duster up to #26 vs. #47, Mercedes A-Class up to #28, Ford Kuga up to #33 and Peugeot 308 up to #36.
