New car sales in Norway are down 2% year-on-year in January to 11,385 registrations. And it’s another milestone month for electric cars in Norway: the Nissan Leaf is the best-seller this month and for the 2nd time ever after last October thanks to 650 sales and 5.7%, a new market share record for the nameplate in the country. With the Tesla Model S topping the Norwegian sales charts in September and December (but outside the Top 20 this month), an electric car was the best-selling model in the country for 4 of the last 5 months! Can the Leaf maintain its leadership to be the first all-electric car to finish a year at #1 in any country in the world? Answer in a bit less than 12 months… This is going to be a great year indeed!
