For the first time on BestSellingCarsBlog I can share with you a very detailed models ranking for Tunisia. This is extremely rare as Tunisia data is traditionally very patchy, so I hope you enjoy it! Over the first 10 months of 2013, 30,421 new vehicles have found a buyer in the country, meaning the market is heading towards a very similar figure over the full year as in 2012 when 36,746 vehicles were sold. The first thing to keep in mind is Tunisian car sales are regulated by annual quotas by brand/model set by the government, which bias the ranking a little. The Renault Symbol has been the best-seller in Tunisia for at least 6 years even though its market share has shrunk from over 20% early on to a still gargantuan 12.5% this year thanks to 3,794 sales. Note the new generation has not hit Tunisian shores yet.

Tunisia is one of the last countries in the world (with Italy, Serbia and Bosnia) to still appreciate the Fiat Punto, #2 over the period at 2,267 units and 7.5%, just above the Renault Clio IV at #3 with 2,220 sales and 7.3%. The VW Polo, for a long time #2 in the country, is down to #4 with 6.7% share. But the big event in the Tunisian Top 10 this year is the arrival of the Peugeot Group twins: the Peugeot 301 lands directly at an impressive 5th place thanks to 1,791 units sold for a 5.9% market share while the Citroen C-Elysee ranks #9 with 1,009 sales and 3.3%.
