Netherlands October 2013: Volvo V40 and V60 on podium

Even though the Dutch new car market is up a spectacular 37% year-on-year in October to 36,784 registrations, the year-to-date total still lags 26% or 116,000 units behind 2012 at 338,007 sales. The VW Golf manages to keep the models ranking pole position for the second month running and the third time this year after last March thanks to 1,575 sales and 4.3% share, and is getting closer to the VW Up year-to-date with 12,519 sales and 3.7% vs. 13,321 and 3.9%. The performer of the month is Volvo, placing two models inside the Dutch podium in October and up to #4 brand with 8.4% share just below Toyota at 8.6% vs. #8 and 5.1% year-to-date… The Volvo V40 is back up to #2 with 1,374 sales and 3.7% while the V60 is up to #3 at 1,359 units and 3.7% share also, thanks to eco-friendly variants benefitting from preferred pricing.

Other great performers in the Netherlands in October include the Renault Captur up one further spot to #12 with 733 sales and 2% share, the Skoda Octavia up to #13 vs. #31 year-to-date, Peugeot 2008 up 10 ranks to #21, the Mitsubishi Outlander starting to see the effects of the preferred pricing on its plugin variant, up 83 spots to #24, the VW Jetta up 22 to #32, Peugeot 308 up 73 to #42, Nissan Note up 58 to #47, Opel Ampera up 2 to break into the Dutch Top 50 at #50, Renault Zoe up 18 to #102 and the BMW 4 Series landing at #120.
