Model-wise, Luca de Meo, Member of the Board of Management for Sales at AUDI AG, says the new A3, Q3 and Q5 contributed significantly to Audi’s global sales growth over the period. The A3 notably broke into the European monthly Top 10 for the very first time last April. And the second half of 2013 and beyond could bring even more good news for the German carmaker: “As new member of the model family, the A3 Sedan will go on sale from September in Europe, with the market launch in China and the United States to follow in 2014. In both countries, the sedan is the most popular body type in the premium market, with around 50 percent of customers opting for a car with a notchback”.

In the US, the Audi Q5 played a significant role in helping Audi post new record figures again each month in the first half of the year. 13,706 deliveries made June 2013 the second-best sales month in the history of the brand in the country. In Mexico, the growth is even more impressive at +45% over 6 months.

In Asia Pacific, a strong 33% surge in June deliveries took Audi sales past the 200,000 mark in China for the first time at the midyear stage at 228,139, up 18% on 2012. Local production of the Q3, which started in April, provided an additional boost there. South Korea saw Audi sales increase by 30% while both in Japan and India they grew by 21%.
