Slovenia June 2013: Renault Clio shoots up to 12% share

The Slovenian new car market confirms it is now back in shape, delivering its third consecutive month of year-on-year growth at a very healthy +17% in June to 5,845 registrations, which brings the year-to-date total up to an almost identical level compared to the first 6 months of 2012 at 28,229 units, down 0.3%. Exceptional score of the locally-produced Renault Clio this month: it grabs a huge 12.3% market share thanks to 718 sales, which is almost 2.5 times as much as the #2. Note the last 3 generations of the model are included in this tally. The Kia Cee’d is the other outstanding performer this month, up one further spot to land in 2nd place at 292 units and 5% share, which pushes it up to #3 year-to-date, passing the VW Polo. The VW Golf rounds up the podium this month at 4.5% but remains #2 year-to-date at 5%.

In 4th place, the Renault Scenic maintains itself at very solid levels with 240 sales and 4.1% vs. 2.8% year-to-date, the Kia Sportage is up 5 spots to #8, the Opel Zafira up a massive 36 ranks to #11 and the Renault Captur is up one to #13 which still makes Slovenia its 2nd best-performing country in the world so far after France where it ranks #4 this month. Further down, notice the Hyundai i30 up 29 spots to #14, the Opel Mokka up 7 to #22, BMW X3 up from outside the Top 70 to #23, Alfa Romeo Giulietta up to #43 and the Peugeot 2008 breaking into the Slovenian Top 50 for the first time at #45.
