Good hold for new car sales in Egypt in February: up 8% year-on-year to 15,020 registrations, which brings the year-to-date total to 32,483 units, up 25% on 2012. For the first time since last November and the third time in the last 12 months, the Chevrolet TFR, a previous gen Isuzu D-Max nicknamed ‘El Dabbabah’ (The Tank) locally, takes the lead of the Egyptian models ranking thanks to 1,559 sales and an excellent 10.4% share. It is now also #1 year-to-date at 3,004 units and 9.2% vs. 2,775 and 8.5% for the Hyundai Verna, 2012’s leader.

Most great performers from January do it again this month: the Mitsubishi Lancer is up a further 2 spots to #4, the Toyota Corolla is up 9 to #6, the Toyota Hilux down 2 to #7, King Long XMQ6500E up one to #8, Suzuki Maruti M800 down one to #14 and Geely Emgrand EC7 stable at #19.
