Greece December 2012: Peugeot 208 on podium, Volvo V40 #7

We have unfortunately become accustomed to month after month of deep decline for the Greek new car market, and December is no different: down 34% year-on-year to 3,668 registrations, bringing the Full Year 2012 total to 58,476 units, down a horrendous 40% on 2011. The Opel Corsa tops the models ranking for the 4th time this year with 291 sales and 7.9%, ahead of the VW Polo up 2 spots to 182 units and 5%. The Peugeot 208 climbs on the Greek podium for the first time thanks to 158 sales and 4.3% share, and is followed by the Citroen C3, Toyota Yaris and Opel Astra.

Volvo V40

Outstanding performance of the Volvo V40 up 14 ranks on November to #7 at 109 units and 3%, a better score than at home in Sweden where it ranks #9 this month. The new Mercedes A-Class is up 10 spots to #8, the VW Up! lodges another satisfying month at #11, the BMW 3 Series is up a massive 51 ranks to #13, the BMW 1 Series up 9 to #15, Mini Countryman up 14 to #18 and the Seat Mii breaks into the Greek Top 50 for the first time at #47.
