Fiat Punto Classic

Like most markets in the region (Croatia down 25%, Slovenia down 17%, Macedonia down 31%), the Serbian new car market struggles in 2012, dropping 26% year-on-year to 23,510 registrations, its lowest annual tally in the last 10 years and less than half the 2007 record of 56,231 units… There is only a brands ranking available for Serbia for now so if you have more info please make sure to get in touch by either commenting on this article or filling up the ‘Contact’ form above. One of the particularities of the Serbian car market is the presence of local carmaker Fiat Automobili Srbija (FAS), formerly known as Zastava, with sales counted separately from Fiat’s.

Skoda Fabia

Massive event atop the brands ranking this year: for the first time in potentially decades, it is not the local manufacturer that tops the charts: Skoda is the new #1 thanks to sales down just 1% to 3,665 units and 15.6% share whereas FAS is down a horrid 51% year-on-year to 2,317 sales and 9.9%. Given FAS only sells the Punto Classic, that model should still be the most popular in the country in 2012, with the Skoda Fabia a possible close 2nd. Great performance of Volkswagen, down just 5% and up 4 spots to #3. Hyundai is stable at #4, Ford (#5) and Opel (#6) exchange position while Kia is up 19% to #10 and Lada up 118% to #14.
