Poland December 2012: Renault Clio and Hyundai ix35 strong

The Polish new car market is down 25% year-on-year in December to 24,707 registrations, bringing the Full Year 2012 total to 311,732 sales, down 3% on 2011. After putting an end to 44 consecutive months of Skoda Octavia domination last month, the Opel Astra is back down to a still respectable #2, only its third time in the Top 2 in the last 12 months, with 751 sales and 3% vs. 796 and 3.2% for the Octavia. The Skoda Fabia rounds up the podium at 640 units and 2.6% while the Ford Focus is back up 8 spots to #4 and the Toyota Yaris up 3 to #5.

Another outstanding month for the Renault Clio, maintaining itself at #6 with 492 sales and 2% vs. #20 and 1.3% over the full year. The Hyundai ix35 is also impressive, up 9 ranks to #8 vs. #16 in the full year. Other great performers this month include the Toyota Auris up 12 to #15, the Hyundai i40 up a huge 74 spots to a record #20, Skoda Citigo up 7 to #31, Honda CR-V up 14 to #35, BMW X3 up 21 to #41 and the Volvo XC60 up 14 to #44.

Further down, the Dacia Lodgy maintains itself within the Top 50 at #49 (-8), the Mitsubishi Outlander is up 21 ranks to #65, the Skoda Rapid up 6 to #74, the Peugeot 301 breaks into the Polish Top 100, up 66 spots to #93 and the Citroen C-Elysee makes its first appearance in the Top 200 at #200. Finally, notice the FS-Lublin Pasagon, the only truly Polish model in the ranking, selling an amazing 37 units at #142 – 37% of its total for the year!
