The fall continues for the Romanian new car market: after hitting an all-time high of 343,080 registrations in 2008, it has been down ever since: -55% in 2009, -19% in 2010, -14% in 2011 and -19% in 2012 to 66,436 registrations, the weakest annual total in the country in potentially 20 years… No surprise in pole position: the Dacia Logan lodges its 8th year in a row in the lead and celebrated its 100th consecutive month atop the Romanian models ranking in December, meaning no interruption since its launch in September 2004. However with sales down 35% on 2011 to just 11,255 and 16.9% share, it delivers by far its weakest annual volume and market share, with its best scores remaining 96,037 units in 2006 and 41% share in 2005

The Ford Fiesta excels at #6, up 9 spots and 32% year-on-year, with the VW Jetta up 8 ranks and 5% to #8. Other great performers include the Suzuki SX4 up 61% to #14, VW Tiguan up 42% to #15, Hyundai Elantra up to #27, Kia Sportage up 53% to #29, Mercedes ML-Class up 45% to #31 and the Range Rover Evoque up to #41. Two all-new models appear in the Top 50: the Dacia Lodgy at #37 and VW Up! at #39.
