Turkey October 2012: Renault Fluence interrupts Fiat Linea reign

As usual we are getting Turkish sales figures with one month delay, and October is down 9% to 43,440 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 423,057 units, down 8% on 2011. After 8 consecutive months of Fiat Linea domination, the Turkish models ranking has a new leader in October: the Renault Fluence, #1 in Turkey for only the second time ever after January 2012 with 2,534 sales and 5.8% share. The Linea is down to #2 at 2,474 units and 5.7% buts stays in the lead in 2012 by far with 26,674 sales and 6.3% vs. 20,437 and 4.8% for the Fluence. The VW Polo brilliantly takes the third spot, up 11 ranks on last month at 2,132 units and 4.9%.

Hyundai i20

Below the Opel Astra back to a 4th place it also holds year-to-date, the Hyundai i20 beats its Turkish ranking and market share records for the 2nd consecutive month at #5 with 1,708 sales and 3.9%. The Honda Civic is up 2 spots to #7 and the Renault Clio is up from outside the Top 25 directly to #8 at 1,208 units and 2.8% thanks to the new generation produced locally. Notice also the Hyundai ix35 up to #20, the Renault Symbol down to #27 waiting for the new model to arrive and the Opel Mokka up to an impressive 330 sales.

There is now a Top 43 All-brands raking available for Turkey, showing Renault in pole position with 6,044 sales and 13.9% in October, followed by Volkswagen at 4,887 units and 11.3%. Two carmakers impress this month: Opel is #3 at 11% share vs. 8.6% year-to-date and Hyundai is #4 at 8.9% vs. 7.8%. Fiat (7.5%), Toyota (6.4%), Ford (6.3%) and Dacia (4.9%) follow.
