New car sales in South Africa stay robust month after month, up 7% year-on-year in November to 53,134 registrations, which brings the year-to-date total to 577,888 units, up 10% on 2011. After 4 consecutive months of VW Polo Vivo domination, the Toyota Hilux is back in pole position in November thanks to 3,100 sales and 5.8% share. However the Polo Vivo now has an almost insurmountable advantage year-to-date at 32,726 units and 5.7% vs. 31,687 and 5.5% for the Hilux. The VW Polo is back to its traditional third place with 2,376 sales and 4.5% while the Toyota Etios is down one spot to a still remarkable #4 at 2,132 units and 4%.

Chevrolet Trailblazer

The Ford Ranger lodges another excellent month, up 4 ranks to #6 and delivering it 2nd best market share ever in the country below last May at 3.1% and 1,662 sales. Notice also the Nissan Qashqai up 6 to #22 and the Mazda3 and Honda Ballade both solid at #29 and #42 respectively. We welcome two all-new models in the South African ranking this month: the Chevrolet Trailblazer lands at #32 with 367 sales while the Honda Brio ranks #73 with 100 units sold.
