Peruvian models data is extremely rare to come across, with the most recent figures dating back to April 2010. That was before Edgar kindly shared new info from Peruvian website . 2010 and 2011 were record years for new car sales in Peru, as evidenced by the country’s place within the world’s Top 10 Emerging engines of growth, with the 100,000 annual sales benchmark passed for the first time in 2010 at 120,800 units and 2011 up 20% to 144,485. But it only took 10 months in 2012 to beat that record again at 148,062 registrations, with the market up again in November at 15,176 units, bringing the 11 months 2012 total to 163,238 registrations, up 24% on 2011.

Toyota Yaris

As it has been the case for most of the past decade, the Toyota Yaris is the best-selling Passenger Car in Peru thanks to 9,162 sales and 6.2% share over the first 10 months of 2012. It is followed by the Kia Rio (3%), Chevrolet Sail (2.7%), Hyundai Accent (2.3%) and Nissan Tiida (1.9%). Brand-wise, in November Toyota leads the way with 2,648 units and 17.4% share, ahead of Hyundai (13.6%), Chevrolet (9.7%) and Kia (9.3%). Notice JAC at #9 (1.9%) and Chery at #10 in the Passenger Cars ranking.
