World: Fiat produces one millionth ‘Nuova’ 500

Yesterday on Monday 19 November 2012, the one millionth 'Nuova' Fiat 500 rolled off the company's production line in Tychy, Poland. Originally launched on 4 July 2007 to mark the 50th anniversary of the first generation Fiat 500, it is now sold in over 100 countries around the world and is also produced in Toluca, Mexico since 2011. With more than 500,000 possible combinations of exterior colours, interiors, engines, equipment and accessories, Fiat says it is difficult to find two identical Fiat 500 vehicles.

The 500 enabled Fiat to return to the North American market in 2011, with strong sales in Canada, the USA and Mexico since its launch in the region, adding up to 70,000 sales there. The 500 is the brand's best-seller in as varied countries as Japan, Australia, South Africa, the UK and New Zealand. It is #4 so far in 2012 in Italy with 37,992 sales and 3.1% share and has managed to rank within the UK Top 10 for 3 consecutive months this year...
