If you are a regular BSCB reader you would already know that Peugeot is doing wonders in Algeria this year. Newly available models rankings confirm this trend and even show that the Peugeot 207, about to be replaced by the 208 here, has taken the lead, passing the Renault Symbol which had been the favourite model in Algeria for the last 4 years. The 207 is #1 year-to-date over 6 months with 16,048 sales, up 75% on 2011, while the Renault Symbol totals 15,316 units, down 12% and the Hyundai Accent rounds up the podium at 12,766 sales (+85%).

Other great performers in Algeria over the first half of 2012 include the Toyota Hilux at #4 with 12,053 units (+25% but down 2 spots), the Dacia Logan at #5 with 11,786 sales (+86%), the Toyota Yaris at #7 and 4,692 units (+95%) and the Peugeot 308 at #8 and 4,198 sales (+102%). Note the Dacia Logan was #1 in June ahead of the Peugeot 207 and Hyundai Accent.

In August, the Peugeot 207 is back in the lead by far with 3,030 sales, up 155% year-on-year, followed by the Toyota Hilux (+39%), Renault Symbol (-42%), Hyundai Accent (-25%) and Renault Clio Campus (+159%).
