Switzerland July 2012: Subaru XV shoots up to world-best #4!

New car sales in Switzerland stand at 24,998 units in July, bringing the year-to-date total to 202,308 registrations. The top 2 best-sellers are unchanged compared to last month and the 2012 year-to-date, however they evolve at levels frankly below their ytd market shares, with the VW Golf #1 at 893 sales and 3.6% share and the Skoda Octavia #2 with 636 units and 2.5%. The Opel Astra is up 2 spots on June to #3 with 469 sales and 1.9%.

The big event this month in Switzerland is the amazing 4th place of the Subaru XV, in actual fact a model that seems to have been created with the Swiss market squarely in mind… It is up a huge 21 ranks on June to deliver by far its highest ranking of any country in the world (beating the 9th position it reaches this month in Norway) thanks to 418 units sold for a 1.7% market share. The Ford Focus also shines, up 24 spots on last month to #5.

Further down, the Audi A3 is up 13 ranks to #8 with 360 sales and 1.4%, the Renault Megane also up 13 to #11, the Nissan Qashqai up 7 to #12, the Opel Zafira up 12 to #19, the Audi Q3 up 14 to #24, the Hyundai i20 up 19 to #25, the Nissan Juke up to #35 vs. #56 year-to-date and the VW Up! up to #43 vs. #67 year-to-date.
