The situation is getting worse and worse in Spain, with July new car sales down 17% year-on-year to 65,481 registrations, the worst July on record in the country. Year-to-date sales are down 10% to 472,082 units. With the IVA tax on cars set to increase on September 1, predictions for the Full Year 2012 are now below 700,000 units or a level not seen in Spain since the mid-eighties.
