Hungary 6 months 2012: Opel Astra #1, Suzuki Swift on podium

The Hungarian car market continues to recover, up 20% year-on-year over the first 6 months of 2012 at 27,787 registrations. The Opel Astra is the most popular model over the period with 1,713 sales and 6.2%, split between 966 of the previous generation H model and 747 of the J model. The Skoda Octavia, leader in 2011, is #2 with 1,591 units and 5.7%.

Suzuki Swift

The Suzuki Swift confirms it is back in the game in third position with 1,140 sales and 4.1% share. If it holds this ranking until the end of the year it will be the first Suzuki to rank on the podium since 2008 when the Swift was the best-seller. The Ford Focus, Dacia Duster and Renault Fluence follow. Notice also the VW Polo up to #13, the Kia Cee’d up to #16 and the Fiat Grande Punto up to #19.
