Norway April 2012: VW Tiguan up to best-ever #2 UPDATED

The Norwegian new car market is down 4% in April to 10,876 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 45,690 units, up 1% on 2011. Like in Germany, Volkswagen manages to place 3 models on the podium, possibly for the first time ever in Norway! The Golf stays #1 with 685 sales and an excellent 6.3% share, it is also #1 year-to-date at 2,143 units and 4.7%. The Tiguan reaches its highest ranking ever in the country at #2 thanks to 414 sales and 3.8% share, it is now #3 year-to-date vs. #13 in 2011!

The VW Passat rounds up the podium at 397 units and 3.7%, up 4 spots on last month and followed by the Toyota Avensis (-1), Volvo V70 (-1) and Skoda Octavia (+7). Other great performers this month include the VW Polo up 14 ranks on March to #9, the BMW X3 up 3 spots to a shiny 13th position, the VW Touran up 47 ranks to #19 and the Skoda Yeti up 22 spots to #26.
