Thanks to Igor, Ukraine is now a monthly fixture on Best Selling Cars Blog! 20,342 vehicles were sold in the country in March, bringing the year-to-date total to 47,695. It looks like 2012 will be a milestone year as far as the models ranking is concerned: after 5 years of domination by the locally-built ZAZ Lanos, the Skoda Octavia is taking a strong option at the Full Year leadership by selling 1,050 units for a 5.1% market share in March.

The Octavia is now also #1 year-to-date at 1,946 units and 4.1%, over 400 sales and one percentage share above the #2, the Lada Samara at 1,536 units and 3.2% while the Lanos is down to #3 in February and #4 year-to-date below its twin the ZAZ Sens.

Geely CK

Another model is going from strength to strength in Ukraine: the Geely CK. After breaking into the Top 10 last month, it is up to #6 in March with 526 sales and 2.6% and #10 year-to-date at 1,031 units and 2.2%, making Ukraine almost certainly its best export market in the world.

Chery Beat (from Russia)

Other great performers this month include the Nissan Juke up 17 spots on February to #16, the ZAZ Forza up 10 ranks to #17 and the Geely Emgrand EC7 up to #26 with 196 sales and 1% share. Notice also the Chery Beat up to #74 while the ZAZ Vida, a rebadged previous generation Chevrolet Aveo lands at #122 with 35 sales for its first full month.
