The English car market is back down 4% year-on-year in November at 134,027 registrations and is now down 4% year-to-date at 1,822,065 units. The Ford Fiesta is the best-selling car in the country for the 9th month in a row with 6,195 sales and 4.6% share, reinforcing its 2011 leadership at 90,701 units and 5%. The VW Golf climbs on the podium for the first time since May at 4,924 units and 3.7%, it is #5 at 3.2% year-to-date. In 4th place, the Ford Focus disappoints at 3.7% vs. #2 and 4.3% year-to-date. While the Nissan Qashqai at #7 and Mini at #9 both have very solid months, the Mercedes C Class lodges a performance that only happens once or twice in a whole decade: it ranks within the Top 10 at #10 and 1.9% share for the first time since… December 2005! A good reason to celebrate for Mercedes.
