Spain October 2011: Seat Ibiza leads, Citroen C4 up to #6

New car sales in Spain are down 7% this month at 57,384 registrations, the slowest month of October in 20 years and 56% below the 2007 record of 129,390 units. The 2011 total is down 20% at 682,897, the weakest figure since 1993 and 50% below the 2005 record of 1,376,676…

After a two-month absence, the Seat Ibiza is back in pole position with 2,308 sales and 4% share, ahead of last month’s best-seller the Renault Megane, very impressive again at 1,984 units and 3.5% share. It is #3 year-to-date at 19,670 sales and 2.9%. The VW Golf is also in shape, up 2 spots on September to #3 with 1,714 units and 3%, ahead of the Seat Leon up 4 spots.

In 6th place, the Citroen C4 gains 9 ranks on last month and reaches the 2nd generation’s highest position so far with 1,533 sales and 2.7% share. The Opel Astra (+8) and Ford C-Max (+20) also shine, while twin Korean 4×4 the Kia Sportage and Hyundai ix35 both continue to climb the Spanish models ladder, respectively #26 and #28.

Further down the ranking, the Renault Koleos is boosted by its facelift, up 21 spots to #43 with 397 sales and 0.7%, a much better performance than in its native France, the Audi Q3 makes its first appearance in the Top 200 at #135 with 61 sales and the all new Seat Mii see its first 6 units sold this month.
