Taiwan May 2011: Nissan Tiida and Mitsubishi Colt Plus on top
This month in Taiwan the effects of the Japan earthquake on the models ranking is blatant: Toyota is highly affected and does not place any model in the Top 6 in May, which is probably a first in Taiwan. Nissan and Mitsubishi monopolise the Top 5, with the Nissan Tiida holding the pole position for the 2nd time this year with 1,207 sales and 4.9%.
The Mitsubishi Colt Plus shines in second place at 1,052 units and 4.3%. Taiwan is by far its best country in the world, the model being available in a limited number of export countries. The Nissan Livina delivers its best ever ranking in Taiwan at #3 with 970 sales and 4%, ahead of the Mitsubishi Veryca (3.6%) and the Mitsubishi Lancer Fortis (2.8%), up 11 spots on April at #5.
The Ford Focus is up 6 spots in 8th position. Notice the Mercedes E Class at #17 with 1.8% of the Taiwanese market, and the BMW 5 Series at #18 with 1.7%.
