The Irish car market is up again this month at +4% with 8,606 registrations and +13% year-to-date at 56,206 units. VW has a very fruitful month of April: the VW Passat takes the lead with 413 sales and 4.8% share and jumps to #3 year-to-date at 2,131 units (3.8%). The VW Golf, #2 over the month at 408 units and 4.7%, takes the lead of the 2011 year-to-date ranking at 2,471 sales and 4.4%.
The Ford Focus, leader last month, drops to 3rd but keeps its share up at 4.5%. It is #4 year-to-date. The Nissan Qashqai is back up to #4 at 3.7%, ahead of the Renault Megane (3.4%) and Renault Fluence (3.1%). The Toyota Avensis ranks #8 and drops to 2nd year-to-date at 2,406 units and 4.3%. The Nissan Micra stays within the Top 10 at 2.6%, and the Peugeot 508 breaks into the Top 30 at #29 with 105 sales (1.2%).
