Seat Ibiza

Launched in late 1988, the Renault 19 is an instant hit with Spanish consumers, and the model enjoys even greater success in Spain than it does in France, up 23 spots on last year to rank #1 as soon as its first full year in market with 8.2% share. The Opel Kadett (+3.6%), Seat Ibiza (+8%) and Renault Supercinq (+5.3%) all drop one spot to #2 to #4. The Ford Fiesta (+38.5%) leaps up 5 spots to #5 and the VW Golf (+34.9%) is up 4 to #9. Curiosities: the Renault 4 is still at a respectable #29 at 0.7% share.
