Spain 1986: Renault 11 3peats at #1, Opel Kadett up to #5

Now with the Top 30 All-brands, Top 125 All-models, Top 20 All LCV brands and Top 50 All LCV models.

The Spanish new car market soars 20.7% year-on-year in 1986 to 667.017 units, and Renault (+2%) still dominates the brands ranking but loses almost 5 percentage points of share to 25.8%, distancing Ford (+29.2%) at 14.7%, Opel (+45.3%) at 14.6% and Seat (+17.6%) at 12.4%. Alfa Romeo (+685.4%) and Fiat (+240.3%) make themselves noticed at the tail end of the Top 10.

In the models ranking, the Renault 11 (-6.6%) threepeats at #1 ahead of the Opel Corsa (+7.1%), Peugeot 205 (+26.5%) and Renault Supercinq (+32.2%) in a Top 4 unchanged on 1985. The Opel Kadett (+485.7%) ends its first full year of sales inside the Spanish Top 5 while the Seat Ibiza (+85.4%) is up 7 spots on last year to #6 overall, becoming the brand’s best-seller above the Malaga (+37.5%) at #11, the Panda (-9.8%) at #14 and the Ronda (-53.7%) at #25.
